Ã÷ÐÇÂãÕÕPolicy Statement on Eliminating Health Disparities

Eliminating disparities in the care of patients with gastrointestinal diseases and conditions is a major objective of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).  To achieve this objective Ã÷ÐÇÂãÕÕis committed to advancing the education of the gastroenterology community in the care of patients from underserved and minority populations.  Ã÷ÐÇÂãÕÕwill support research and the development of GI researchers in the area of health disparities.  Ã÷ÐÇÂãÕÕwill advocate for public policy that ensures access to gastroenterological care for the underserved and that supports increased clinical research in health disparities.  Ã÷ÐÇÂãÕÕwill support programs that help eliminate healthcare disparities in risk assessment and early detection of GI diseases, such as colorectal cancer.
