    New Fraud Schemes Target Health Care Providers

    CMS published an alert on fraud schemes targeting Medicare providers that involve bad actors impersonating CMS and sending phishing fax requests for medical records and documentation, falsely claiming to be part of a Medicare audit. CMS does not initiate audits by requesting medical records via fax.

    CMS Releases CY2026 Hospital OPPS and ASC Proposed Rule

    On July 15, 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the CY 2026 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Payment System proposed rule, outlining updates to Medicare payment policies and rates for hospital outpatient and ASC services.

About Ã÷ÐÇÂãÕÕMembers

Ã÷ÐÇÂãÕÕphysicians have highly specialized training in endoscopic procedures of the digestive tract, including upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). Ã÷ÐÇÂãÕÕis the only medical society that requires documentation of specific training in GI endoscopic procedures
